We are resolute We are stubborn As we bury the hundreds of thousands now dead And treat the millions hurt and in terrible pain
Over time we forget And the wounds remain In our body, but mostly in our minds
Some remember Others deny its ugly rationale So soon we revisit this terrible tale Of death and devastation Of pain and anguish Of lies and half-truths
We will repeat this scene Over and over, And over again – many times Until we are no more And others are left with the pain of war.
Terrible specter, you picked the right colors for devastation interestingly enough, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to use those warms. I think it’s the frayed edges of the black, a kind of sootiness it gives to the city that makes it frightening for what could be. Indeed for what has been. And too, it’s like night, lit by bombs.
