Bonita, I have only just joined this group so am not privy to your earlier mail, but personally I cannot imagine being offended by someone asking to remember people going through the greatest tragedy ever to hit their country. I commend you for doing so, and, as one who is directly affected by it (my mother is in the middle of the firezone in the worst-hit area and it is unknown if she made it out), I thank you from the bottom of the heart for reaching out. These people need all the help they can get, in any form people are willing and able to give it. For some, that means prayer, for others, keeping their fingers crossed and sending positive vibes, for yet others, monetary donations. It is the spirit in which help is offered that is important, not the method people use to offer it.

well bonita i read the earlier bmail and i’m wracking my brain trying to figure out what was offensive…..it didn’t come off as preachy or anything like that….as for being judged, looks like that happens already, every day, no matter what we do or what we believe….just keep on rocking, baby, and know that the vast majority of LLDer’s have no problem with it….in fact i see your altruism shining through and there’s never anything wrong with that =)

Hi Bonita, your heart is in the right place and that is all that matters. I myself am not so religious as spiritual but did not take offence at your Group BM. We are all allowed to believe what we believe and the way that I was brung-ed up was to treat other people the way you want to be treated. As far as I am concerned that is what you are doing… Hard job, 2300 members on your own. The postive thing here is only one complaint out of 2300? That is a good thing, you can’t please all the people all the time. They would have a good reason for their response and they are entitled to that opinion, as I am to mine now, but the main thing to remember, is that your heart is in the right place. You should never feel that you need to apologize to anyone for being a sincere, kind and compassionate person….its irrelevant of ones religious beliefs or spiritual worshipping. The fact that you are sharing your concern about the folks in Australia, should be embraced by all your Redbubble group members. Life is way too short to be petty and to take offense by gestures of kindness. I sincerely believe that everyone short of the “offended” understand where you are coming from.

Your act was obviously one of caring and empathy, unfortunately there are people that will take offence regardless of what people say but do not take it to heart. Our Bush will recover the people who return will rebuild with far more care I look at the communications of this site & the TV & Radio and in 2 days Australia have ralleyed found $15 million dollars and have swamped the facilities with donations of clothing food blood even homes
and the world have helped too!
That’s the bit that gets me
I was 20 in the 1983 fires there was no world assistance then, there was barely any world awareness 3000 homes were lost then and Melbourne was ringed in Bushfire to the point that only the Bay was our way out! – no roads, rail or planes.
But this fire is worse – it was hotter it is faster it is still raging!
ANY HELP all prayers everyone sending us positive energy no matter the denomination – that will HELP!

Prayer, the power of positive healing vibes, what ever one may choose to call it or believe; it’s amazing what people who “come together” can do to help others even when they are worlds apart. The message I received was that the people of Australia needed our help, and what ever form that help takes, will result in a blessing for them in their time of need. God Bless you for being a messenger and God Bless the ones who suffer in Australia.

I’m sorry that you were so set upon. Sometimes those that are unsure in their beleifs feel that they must fight to protect them. You are God’s child and loved by Him. So are they. They just don’t know it. Bless your heart and spirit. May we all come to understand that it is not about religion; but, about loving our God with our whole hearts in whatever way He is real to us. For God’s face is as varied as there are people upon this earth. He is personal to each and everyone of us. I support your earlier emails and your efforts on behalf of so many others including us Redbubblers. As for anyone taking offense, well, The Lord’s Prayer is sent up on behalf of us all. The believers and non-believers, the truth sayers and the nay sayers alike. Your expressions of hope and requests for help will be looked upon favorably by the most high.

I just read the bmail you sent earlier and there was nothing in there that people could be offended by.
If some one doesn’t like the comnent of a bmail- they can always DELETE it… or if they have a bigger problem with how the group is being run- LEAVE THE GROUP.

Personally i have no problem with any of your bmails and i think you’re doing a magnificent job of running LLD.

Bonita…if they don’t like what you do as a group host then let them eat cake, but all I ask is that you let me prepare them a cake they will never be soon to forget. As I always say, you can’t control what other people do or say but you can control how you react or choose not to react at all.
You do a wonderful job and you are a pleasure to know..don’t sweat it. There will always be one person that is offended by something and that is on them and you should not have to apologize for their behaviour. It is a reflection of who they are and not who you are.

Yes, we Christians have rights, too, and one of those is to pray for those we are concerned about and also to lend a hand when and where we can. I, too, have been praying for some dear rb friends who reside in Australia – it is just about all I can do right now. Being a member of rb has allowed me to get to know so many people from so many different places and I love them as if I’ve know them personally for years. Thank you for praying for my friends – I will also pray for you. You do terrific job!

I can identify with not pleasing everyone. I too have faced a bitter attack upon my Love for God, His son Jesus, Holy Spirit and the Philadelphia Mission, by just one person who seems to think that I have become rich through the Charity. I have become very rich, but not financially, as it has cost me and my wife much during its 15 years. I do what I do, because I Love and feel for the extreme poor.

How can we not feel the pain and concern for those in Australia, who have lost not just entire homes and all material things, but have lost dear precious loved ones, including children. I like you adn many here weep with them and pray for them.

I have become rich in Gods Love, Wisdom and revelation of his awesome power and ability to join me and the mission to many great and precious friends, worldwide. I have seen God use little me, to encourage, inspire and motivate many to see the best in themselves, and see themselves in the light of our Lords Love, Grace and mercy. I have had requests for advise, Counselling and prayer here on RB, and have seen the Lord Heal, Deliver and give Peace to many. AS you and others here on RB have and are doing.

This is what You have and are doing to thousands here. I have learned that satan hates what we do and will at some point challenge our efforts and indeed us, in the hope we will get offended, tired and give up. He is a fool.

We are bigger than those who would accuse, ridicule, use words of hurt and judge us wrongly, because of who lives inside us. Together we stand at our appointed post and we will never give in to that which is contrary to Gods word, and will.

Since God led you into my life,and the mission, it has become richer and grown so much. It is a privilege to know you as my sister, Friend and encourager.

I live in Australia, and my hubbie’s brother and his family are in the fire area….. thankfully he is o.k. (for now), but every time I turn on the t.v. I end up in tears. HOw on earth can anyone be offended by you trying to offer support and/or prayers!!! this is inconceivable to me….
Australia is resilient – we will cope, but the prayers and wishes from those elsewhere are truly felt…. thank you all….

My dear Sister, any person who could object to what ever you wrote, is sick, “sin sick”, and remember that even Jesus Christ Himself, could not please everyone, and He was perfect! There seems to be a growing trend, of attacking a host that sends out a b/mail with any sort of “Christian” message in it. This is indicative of what is happening in the world. As you see… there are many many here who support you and love you! Pray for those who spitefully use you, and are in such a shape mentally and spiritually that they would complain about a b/mail.. such as this…. It is unthinkable… but they are out there… We are in a spiritual battle…and it is handled through prayer. So, don’t let this cross your mind… again… consider the source, and feel sorry for such a soul as whom ever did such a thing!! You are one of the brightest lights here at RB…..and all know that!! You are right, as a host myself, we will NEVER please everyone in a group. You do what you feel you want YOUR group to be and like you said, they are welcome to join in on the fun and adventure of the group or not. If someone can not think for themselves and either read your words or ignore them, then I think that is a problem of theirs and not yours. Do NOT take others words to heart. They may have been having a bad day themselves and you just happen to be a target for them to unleash on. Or they may just not like your beliefs…that is their prerogative. But to try and force THEIR beliefs on you is wrong too. I did not read your Bmail as being forceful or out of place. You write very well and you wrote and sent that bmail from the bottom of your heart. That in it self is commendable. Please remember, we can only do what we think is right, if everyone is not happy then all you can say is “I’m sorry it did not please you…” otherwise, it is their problem not yours. Please do not take it personal or you will go crazy…lol
