Ok, This is just a little public service announcement of sorts…....... Late this afternoon, I got my 4 wheeler out to take a spin like I do so many times each week….You know, Off to catch that ultimate capture lol… well, I thought I saw something outta the corner of my eye as I had stopped to take a photo of a little butterfly…........ Low and behold, I raised my leg up outta habit of watching for stuff thats not familiar….. looked down, and there was a 5-6 foot , Now im guessing lol…. COPPERHEAD laying right at my feet by my 4 wheeler… folks, this aint good news lol…........ He is HIGHLY VENOMOUS ! We have 4 highly toxic snakes that live in my area… he is ONE OF THE 4 ! I started yelling help me, roflol…... then I realized, Im here all alone lol…....I was down from my house at the woodline and no one was gonna hear me…....... However, GOD HEARD ME , cause the snake looked at me…...... crawled about 3 feet or so, kept looking at me, and sticking its old evil tongue out lol, however, THANK GOD it never struck at me…..Anyways, I dont know what all states they live in, but…... IF YOU SEE THIS SNAKE…....... DONT WORRY ABOUT TAKING ITS PHOTO…... GET OUTTA THERE ! He can kill you ! Well, just wanted to let yall know ! Hugs and love yall ! Thank God he didnt eat me ! LOL Although it aint really funny! Hugs and love to you always ! I have a brand new pair of snake boots, and I neverrrrrr wear them…...... FROM NOW ON, I WILL WEAR THEM !

    BELIEVE ME! I KNOW ALL ABOUT THESE AWNRY CRITTERS.I HAVE BEEN BITTEN 3 TIMES
    BY COPPERHEADS.WE HAVE BUNCHES OF THEM HERE IN THE OZARKS.ONE THING, YOU JUST ABOUT HAVE TO STEP ON THEM TO GET THEM TO BITE.YOU WILL END UP STEPPING
    OVER MORE OF THEM THAN YOU WILL EVER SEE.AND THAT’S A FACT.THEY USUALLY ARE
    IN PAIRS.I FOUND 14 OF THEM AT THE BOTTOM OF A FIRE WOOD PILE DENNING UP FOR
    THE WINTER.I KNOW THEY ARE THICK IN THE SOUTH.ALONG WITH THERE COUSIN’S THE
    COTTONMOUTH AND RATTLE SNAKE.THE CORAL SNAKE IS POISONOUS,BUT NOT A PIT
    VIPER AS THE OTHERS ARE CALLED. HE DOES NOT HAVE RETRACTABLE FANGS.HIS FANGS ARE IN THE BACK OF HIS MOUTH AND HE CHEWS ON HIS SUBJECTS. YUCK! BE VERY CAREFUL MY DEAR FRIEND.GREAT PIECE.SORRY, I WAS JUST BEING CONCERNED.:)

    Nice capture that shows how well these critters blend in with their surroundings. Copperheads don’t get much bigger than about 3.5 feet, and actually have the least toxic venom of any pit viper in America. It would be nearly impossible for even the largest copperhead to kill an adult human (unless the person was allergic to the venom). They are also very unlikely to strike unless you step on them or manhandle them, and when they do strike they are the most likely snake to “dry bite”—bite without injecting venom. Snakes really aren’t mean or evil at all, just misunderstood. Most snakes are really very gentle and placid. :)
