A silhouette of the BBC Sherlock Holmes, cut from a page in the original Holmes’ infamous story, “A Scandal in Bohemia”. The slight yellow tint of the page comes from the age of my copy of the book.
You probably know that this is the story which introduced “the woman”, Irene Adler. But it was also the first of Arthur Conan Doyle’s 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories to be published in The Strand Magazine.
The silhouette is based on fan art of Benedict Cumberbatch (Mr. Holmes) by the very talented Lydia Butz, used here with her permission. You can see more of her artwork here: http://girl-on-the-moon.deviantart.com/
