Loch Eil. Fort William, Scotland.

So, I was the nominated driver for our 3 Peaks Challenge.

For the uninitiated, the 3 Peaks challenge is where you scale the 3 highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales) in 24 hours or less.

Aside from the 1000 mile drive from our home city of Leeds, I didn’t have much to do while the chaps were scaling the peaks, so I chugged around the local glens and lochs for 5 hours with my camera.

I got this shot of Loch Eil at about 7pm, just as the weather was clearing from the west. I’m quite happy with it. I didn’t tweak the shafts of sunlight or anything like that – they are as shot.

The sky really was this angry in the afternoon, but it cleared for a really lovely evening… shame about the midges. Farsands of ‘em.

PS – for anyone who’s interested, we did all 3 in 23 hours and 21 minutes and raised over £3k for Everyman cancer charity.
