seed of life

each day
my heart gets smaller
when i hear
the news

guns in pockets
on pavements
of blood of black

the worlds
so cold

devised by man
even before
words of peace
are spoken

lives are lost
absence of breath

throughout history
Martin Luther King
one of many
whose words
that will be heard
in every generation

i see it for real
bullets in
skins of black

will never repair
for the children
of war
robbed of a future
the breath of life
that is killed
in this
tit for tat
called war

a seed of life
for many
a parent

What a beautiful and soulful write. Many a times we install in our children the meaning of peace; a word, yes a word so powerful that could move mountains yet our children start playing at war, games of war, fed upon war. It does make our hearts shrink when we see those words being blown into the wind.
