Puffing Billy is Australia’s favourite steam train and one of the finest preserved steam railways in the world.

This NA locomotive 6A was built in 1901 and painted two-tone green. It was issued to the Colac to Beech Forest line and was used in that line’s construction. In fact prior to 1978, it can legitimately be referred to as the only “true” Puffing Billy locomotive.

This photo was taken at the Lakeside station (Emerald Lake), where the trains usually pause here for the crew to fill the locomotive water tanks.
