Broken

With my refusal to speak,
Cold silence descends.
Broken promise, shattered glass.
It beats yet never mends.

With your commitment spoken,
Neither heard nor seen,
Each shred steals my reflection,
With nothing in between.

With our promise broken -
Far too late to trust.
History relived again,
As truth returns to dust.
