This is a very complex image, made with about 10 layers in Photoshop. I started with a fineliner drawing of a woman’s face. I was influenced by Byroglyphics, the graphic designer, but in the end my work came out very different to his, which I was pleased about. I dropped ink onto the page and spread it with a straw. This turned out very random and chaotic as the ink ran across the page and spread out like tree branches. I then added red and brown ink, and the image evolved of its own accord. I scanned it and tidied it up in Photoshop, then adding effects like the ‘halftone’ spots, textures and a graffiti background. I am pleased with the result, which fits with my theme of chaotic movement.
