Sokapatta ca nissoka

Buddha statue ~ Australian Buddhist Vihara in Katoomba NSW.

From Parami
“In May 1971, Ven. R. Somaloka, a Sri Lankan bhikkhu, arrived in Sydney to become the first permanent resident member of the sangha in Australia. He ministered mainly to Buddhists of European ethnic origin. In May 1973, the Australian Buddhist Vihara was opened at Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.”

Shot with little Canon IXUS 700. Selective Coloring + sepia in CS2

A very restful image for the eyes Baina..I love the touches of colour. Nicely done!

  • Thank you Linda, I put it together for the tribute to the people of Japan… in the group JAPAN – Through the Lens ~ I hadn’t played with sepia for a while, much prefer it to B&W here! Thanks for visiting :-)

    Love it!

  • Thank you Sass, and thank you for the fave. I am actually on my way to offer Venerable Kovida a print (he is in charge of the monastery Australian Buddhist Vihara). Much appreciate your comment.

Superb image ! So peaceful and nice to see a touch of colour.Fav.

  • Thank you Pat! it’s rare that sun touches this Buddha statue… and when it does, even more rare that I have my camera! I was lucky. The only thing better than this photograph is meditating there in the fresh mountain air. Thank you so much for the fave!
