The original photo from 1900 was not found. All we had to work with was a low quality photocopy (A4) which was scanned in colour at 600 dpi. The restoration was tedious with lots of detail added including shoes, boots, separation in the whites, lengthening of curtain… A hint of Sepia tone was added for a touch of atmosphere.
Don’t wait to rescue deteriorating images, they only get worse with time. Our ancestors were poor and wore their best clothes for their photograph to be taken. They wanted to record and share the moment with future generations.
