Velia Specchio’s photography is inspired by saints, myths , art history and humanity and focuses on self-portraits. Her work has a fantasy quality with fragments of broken glass appearing to cut up the view into mosaic pieces . Living and working in Pennsylvania, Velia continues to strive for work that comes from the core of emotion and action, not logic and reason. A goal that has surely brought a dark watery depth to the finished images.
Her new work involves exploring the core of human condition. Velia holds a B.S. Degree in Art Ed and Studio Painting. She uses her love of photography and her skills at painting to create a mixed media of photos that are rich with color and imagination. her works are available for purchase here.
