The most important building in Istanbul’s Sarachane quarter is the Sehzade Mosque, completed in 1548. The mosque and a mausoleum was built under the reign of Ottoman Sultan Süleyman in memory of his eldest son by Roxelane, Prince Mehmed, who died of smallpox at the age of 21 in the year 1543. It was the first major work by the famous architect Sinan.
a beautiful photographic work of art … gorgeous … I love your pov with the flowers in the foreground … it adds to the mystique of the beautiful mausoleum!!!
Thank you very much for your wonderful words Lois!
