I am always attracted to this type of photograph. I really like that sense of being drawn in and the intimacy between the viewer and the sole human being in the scene.
The lighting, exposure and processing have rendered a beautiful light painting with nice subtle gradation between light and shadow without the loss of detail.
The depth of field and perspective combined with your focal point have created a great 3D effect.
I am so glad you included the narrative to help us understand the architecture in this shot and the building itself adds its very interesting shapes and textures.

I have very few favourites; but this is a must inclusion. The composition, lighting, detail of the stonework—and on and on. There is so much in this photo for “learning”. Rule of thirds, use of light, the eye being drawn in, the feel. This is one of the best I have seen on redbubble. Would like to know your equipment and how you achieved this truly wonderful photo. In a setting with such high dynamic range you have just succeeded so well in highlighting every detail so beautifully. The lone figure lends this piece a wonderful sense of scale, emphazising even more its grandure, and the old woman herself just simply somehow ‘belongs’ in that scene.
