Feed back please!
hi,
with my uni course ending in just days, i felt it necessary to put together a bit of an online folio so i can send it around and get some jobs happening.
would really appreciate some feedback if possible!
i designed the site, but a friend helped me code it.
at the moment i haven’t bought a domain name, but i will shortly…
for now you can find the site at… http://dotaudesigns.com/alex/
its a folio site, so it has lots of pictures. so make sure you let it load fully!
also, it tends to spaz out a bit in Internet Explorer, so if you can preview in safari or firefox, or anything other than IE, your experience will be much better :P

sideways websites can be a pain in the ass, but i think i’ve made it fairly user friendly

yeah I agree with messing with the “known” functionality, but I think you have won with this one. Congrats on finishing your honours by the way! I am looking forward to doing mine real soon too. Did you enjoy it?

umm… i’ve always had a bit of a love hate thing going with uni, so honours is no different. Yeh, it was great, i learnt a lot and its made my process a lot more thorough, but at the same time its such hard work!
The majority of my recent redbubble pieces have been done while procrastinating from my uni work, haha. I look forward to putting a lot more time into my own personal work now that its all over!

Yeah, i’m going to update my CV asap, had to kind of rush that one together. My art director of the past two years will be my main referee, he’s going to write me a pretty sweet reference letter as well.

Very nice. Lovely clean design and lets the quality of your work do the talking. I work as a designer and am impressed both with the ease of use and the fact that you lead with a piece that would make potential clients want to see the rest. Good job and hope you get the work

It’s a pretty amazing collection of work Alex! I went in with my ‘feedback hat’ on and before I knew it I’d forgotten about the analysis and I was just sucked into browsing through the work … I guess that’s what a good website is supposed to do!

Top shelf alex, that was an enjoyable browse. The left to right layout was great too, very legible and very stylish overall without relying on annoying tricks and stoopid ‘graphic design’ cliches.
