oo…you’ve been back ? or is this an older one ?
either way Drew, this is just beautiful.
the sun getting ready to rise behind the mountains (I’m guessing that’s Mt Granya?) giving off a red hue and Lake Hume in the foreground all misty with the old trees that didn’t make it….
this is a fantastic landscape photo Drew, well done !

  • Thanks Jared. I really appreciate your continued support mate :-)

I haven’t been back (yet), this one is from last sunday morning. You’re correct that is Mt Granya in the background too!

I hope you don’t mind me stealing how you do your shot data. I think it’s a great idea.

I really like this, the angle and viewpoint make it appear that you are in the midst of all that water, and the soft pink hues around the mountainous background just add a real sense of calm to the shot.

  • Thanks Stuart.
That is a real compliment coming from you. Your work is something to look upto :-)

    Thanks for stopping by!

no worries mate, i’m really loving your work – and really like how you select your best images too.
I don’t mind at all that you’re using my shot data format – haven’t patented it yet :-)
I like to add it so others know what settings i used for that shot if they are just starting out or even for those experienced people who may not have tried a certain shot yet. But I think it’s great that you’re also sharing your shot data, it gives an insight as to how you composed and decided on your shot.

  • Jared – my apologies for not replying sooner. Life is crazy atm, so little time for RB!
I agree totally that it’s good to share shot data and learn from other peoples techniques.
I’m going to head out again early this weekend for more seascape shots. I just picked up a cokin filter kit with a wide angle adapter. Got some ND and grad filters so I should be able to get a longer exposure further into the morning!

Stunning shot Andrew, love the soft pastel pre dawn colours and the icy smoothness of the water, great work!

  • Thankyou so much! I love it up there. It’s great to get away from the city.

Your comment on one of my shots led me to your photos and I’m glad it did; this is a beautiful scene with overtones of Chinese or Japanese fine art. Great photo!

  • Thanks Frank, a wonderful compliment :-)

The scattering of dead trees leads the eye wonderfully through the image. A great photo.

  • Thanks Andrew. I’m glad you like the shot!
