Excuse me while I take the call by

A window dresser at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
Another picture of my Watering hole approach to candid pictures. It is the same as a wildlife photographer waiting at spot, like a watering hole, for some action and animals. The difference is only that the setting is in the mall and the subjects are not wild. I also don’t need a 4X4 to get there, it is air-conditioned, with a coffee shop just around the corner. I blend in camouflaged as a tourist.

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.

What a great composition, love their postures and indifference as she takes the call :)

  • Thanks. I lingered with intent for some time as I explain above, added after your kind comment.

    Amazing work!

  • Thank you. I had a lot of fun to see how much “natural looking” detail I could get from the high contrast original.

There’s no escaping Art but then, who would want to?…’s in everything we see and do.
    Great shot.

  • Thank you Frank. My favourite saying about art is, “Art makes visible. First you see the tree in the painting, then you see the painting in the tree.” Regards, Faul.

wow! I like all your ‘window shopping’ ! But this one is outstanding!

  • Thank you. It felt a little, let’s say awkward, to loiter around a window and naked dummies with a camera but I am glad I did.

great: with arms, without arms, and the one sitting down is great! Did you see what it was like when she’d finished?

  • Thanks. No, I didn’t go back. It could have been a great series but I was probably looking at workers in the dry-dock. (See next picture)

Hehhehe! That’s a great capture! OK Ladies! Get dressed!

    Gabe :)

  • Thanks Gabe. It is not only fun to find and make pictures, but an added bonus when it can make someone smile.
