The interview by awefaul

Currently unavailable for purchase

Funny how some images on RedBubble can alter my perception. While having a coffee and cheesecake at a favourite restaurant (V&A Waterfront, Cape Town) I noticed this woman, with the pen, interviewing the one on the right. I could hear words like conflict resolution and deadlines and so. Then I remembered the picture The interview by ell-on-wheels and took this picture, thinking black & white, but in the end, they only have a caption in common.

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.

    Great capture Faul!

  • Thanks Berns. Sometimes all you have to do is lift the camera and make sure the strap doesn’t fall into of the Cheesecake’s cream.

    Definitely tells a story

  • Thank you. It looked more like a performance assessment than an interview but the body language will be the same for both.

Fantastic body language you’ve captured here, Faul! The eager intent of the interview-ee, watching the other woman’s hand, writing away on the form, making sure the info is written accurately … like the refracted light from her glasses on to her face too :-)
Can see this image working very well in b/w too, by the way :-D

Honoured beyond words to have had a small part in inspiring your image, Faul :-)))

  • Thanks a lot. I really tried many variations and black & white does not work although it look as if it will. In the end the slightly desaturated background does the trick, I think.

Excellent scene. One of these days I will make it to Cape Town…

  • Thanks Stephen. You are welcome, but this kind of thing happens everywhere.

Yay! Faul! We will have to stop meeting like this! Side by side again ! Congrats an hugs!

  • Thanks Berns. It is getting to the point where I will be disappointed if I get a feature and don’t get a hug from you, on the podium, too.

    Excellent candid photo!

  • Thank you so much. I took this when there was still a smoking section at the restaurant. How things change.
