He was in a group of about ten tourists, all men, at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. I suspect he is their boss because they took pictures of him every ten meters or so. I hope they just give him an unedited collection on a 50 GB hard drive when back home and then forget about it. I also hope they had time to see some of the other sites without this man in front but I doubt it.
By now I almost have a 50 GB collection of other people’s holiday snaps, so who am I to judge.

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.

Haha! Love the commentary! Love the photo!

  • Thank you. Perhaps I should add some more of the same guy and make a collection.

Too too funny!! Love what you did with it, too.

  • Thank you so much. Every now and then I consider stopping this frame in a frame idea but then when I get a kind response, like yours, I just have to keep on.

Forget about is right:)! Jeez, look at the guy:)! Great capture of his vanity:)

I try not to take snaps myself. I got my wife a camera so she can take her own snaps:)

God, I can still remember the slideshows that went on for hours… "There is me in front of… That is me with ‘soandso’… Our campground, the restroom at the campground, the door of the restroom of the campground, yaddah, yaddah…

  • Oh yes! We actually attended slide shows in the church hall… But then, TV only came to South Africa in the late seventies, believe it or not.

Fantastic Capture! Thank you for sharing the story with us. I totally agree with Rene Fuller.
…..the spiderweb in the corner of the restroom at the campground…..

  • …and explaining what is just outside the frame to the left. Perhaps, on second thoughts, they could get him one of those picture frames for his desk where he can look at himself day in, day out..
