Workers posing by awefaul

Currently unavailable for purchase

While looking at these workers to see how I could frame them against the building, the one on the right saw me, said something to his mates and that was when it stopped being a candid picture and more like a rock band posing for a CD cover.

At the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

Part of the series figures in an urban landscape and Black & white and colour

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.

That would be such a cool CD cover:)! I wonder what the guy told his mates?
    I love it!

  • Thanks. Perhaps he just started singing the first line of their nr 1 hit. Who knows.

hey awefaul. this is a splendid shot. they show they are a great and motivated team. i would have them paint my house any day.
there is a group called ‘people at work’. they might like to have it there.

  • Thanks. I don’t know about painters that stop every time they see a camera though. People at Work was one of the first groups I joined and perhaps 50% of my Waterfront pictures are workers. In the dry-dock, washing windows, sweeping and painters, of course. Maybe I will make a collection…

Ha!!! Right time right place Faul!!!! :-D Great capture!
Hehe, can see OH&S is a high priority here – bare foot painter?? ;o))

  • Thank you. I felt that if the people responds to the street photographer that it doesn’t ‘count’ any more. Perhaps I will reconsider some others. I also noticed the lack of shoes and hardhat or safety harness for that matter. Glad I didn’t witness some accident…

This is great! Love the feeling it evokes – what fun!

  • It isn’t the first time I see workers respond like that. With all the cameras around they are really surprised when they get some attention.
