When these men give their occupation as painters it isn’t the type that end up in a gallery but it does not mean that at some stage some gentle precision brush work isn’t required for the finishing touches.

Three exposures using the rail to steady the camera with the Remove Ghosts feature of Photoshop CS5 Merge to HDR Pro to take care of the inevitable movement and other numerous features.

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.

It’s certainly intriguing watching and shooting this sort of thing. But will the painters claim you have breached the copyright in their work? LOL. What makes it Art? What makes it solely utilitarian?

  • Utilitarianism is an ethical theory holding that the proper course of action is the one that maximizes the overall “happiness”. It is thus a form of consequentialism, meaning that the moral worth of an action is determined only by its resulting outcome, and that one can only weigh the morality of an action after knowing all its consequences. Does that answer the question?

((:→…….I didn’t put the “ism” on the end of “utilitarian”, and my questions were rhetorical. How can we know all consequences in advance anyhow…? Utilitarianism is I think something invented by people who thought they were so God like they created this idea to mimic evolution, in an age when men thought morals were absolute…… ie they were idiots. :-)
