Eight short stories could be told about what brought the individuals to the Gordon’s Bay beach overlooking False Bay one fine day in April. Perhaps there were four couples each in a particular stage of their relationship. All will be just speculation. I know that they were all together for a few minutes, long enough for three exposures with the idea to choose the best afterwards. Then, sometime later, I wondered how Photoshop CS5’s Merge to HDR Pro would handle the inevitable movement of the handheld camera and the people with the ghost removal feature.
This is just priceless!! You have such a brilliant eye for picture opportunities!! That ghost removal feature works really well!! I do like though, that they all have a certain kind of movement in their body language. It is far from a static picture, even when the people in it are sitting down, hence are static. The long shadows add a playful touch to the picture too. Very, very nice job!!! Heel erg goed gedaan!!
Thanks a lot! When I saw them I thought that I would make them into silhouettes but lately I became interested in detailed ‘realistic’ pictures. Yes, I also find movement in the frozen moment.
Great image but please would you supply some more info on the HDR process you used. For example – how many exposures, software used, tonemapping, etc. Then please re-submit so that we can add the image to HDR Photography (3 Photos per 24hr-day) MUST INCLUDE HDR DETAILS. Thank you and you can delete this comment if you wish.
I have changed the description so that the Photoshop CS5’s Merge to HDR is bold italics. I will do so in the future because I realise you have a lot of images to evaluate for the group.
It’s funny, but the previous picture that you commented on, in the restaurant, was taken at the other end of this bay. If it wasn’t for the mist you might see it. All this just a short drive from where I live. Lucky me.

I don’t mind at all. In fact, you might have noticed that my HDR pictures often does not look like the typical entries in the group.
