A shop and little passer by at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. Testing the Remove ghosts feature of Photoshop CS5’s new Merge to HDR Pro with three exposures.
This is another picture with the same, watering hole, approach to candid pictures.

Digital photography is doing for photography what the piano did for keyboard music. You can still play music composed for the harpsichord on the piano but not the other way around.
such a wonderful shot…..nicely done!!!
Thank you so much.
Aaah, live the V&A! Great pic Awefaul!
Thanks. My favourite place to take the camera for a walk. (See the vawaterfront tag)
nice HDR i like how you dont over due it as I have seen others do
It is the High Definition of HDR that attracted me to it first. Thanks.
Nice capture, love all the green in it, that little boy is adorable
Thank you. Yes, the green made me decide to use it even if he is little blurred.
Very Colorful & Fun!
Thank you. Fun is indeed the operative word.
This is a brilliant candid shot. I really like the slight motion blur of the kid that contrasts so well with all the static elements in the scene.Your timing was spot on and your depth of field shows all the incredibly interesting detail very well.I do feel though that the image would benefit if you were to crop in from both sides and the top to bring those edges just into the green thus adding more emphasis to the subject and keeping the viewer within the frame. (Justathort!)Your exposure has handled the lighting very well and the colours are so well balanced and give the scene a cheery feel. The pattern of the footpath seems to echo the chaos of the background.Be proud!
Thank you Dennis. It is part of my ‘watering hole’ approach to candid pictures. I added a thumbnail of a picture where it is explained in more detail. I am also experimenting with HDR where there are people in the picture, something I don’t see often. As for the cropping, well I did think about it again but I will leave it as is. (Don’t let that deter you from criticism like that)
I see you already made a comment there!
Such an interesting shop and great timing with the little boy – love the way it looks like the statue is staring straight at him :)
Thank you. There is a lot of luck involved.
