Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Blue Polka Dot Bikini by

On the Muizenberg beach on the False Bay coast near Cape Town. The original bikini was cyan, but to protect the identity of the woman I changed it to blue.

I usually hate sc work but this just sings.!

  • Well, thank you, but this one is so obvious. The more subtle ,so called, sc work is very thrilling and changed the way I see. Have a look at this and how he reverse those architectural drawing where the people are just little silhouettes (you should know) I have grouped my colour AND black & white together and added the link with another example since this comment. It is the new ‘dodge and burn’.

You are absolutely right and I do like desaturation and subtle use of colour but you do see a lot of sc stuff like red telephone boxes and so on which just are too much. its an interesting dialogue..I love the photo you linked to.

  • There was a long debate recently on one of the selective colour groups when someone submitted a picture where the background was blacked out afterwards. The end result was a new group with just plain backgrounds. Sometimes I think I should just desaturate parts of the picture to watercolour tones so that it falls between those groups. It is such an amazing set of tools I have here on my desk!
