There is evidence that Simon’s Town near Cape Town, was once a British Naval Base all over town. This picture is evidence that three quick exposures with one EV difference and Photomatix, with the help of CS4 can bring out the detail in the shadow that would be lost in a single exposure. The shop assistant probably thought that he wasn’t in the picture and stayed perfectly still for the second it took for the handheld exposures. By the way, am I the only photographer that keep both eyes open when I look through the viewfinder?
Love, love, love this, Faul!!!!!!!! You and hdr were made for each other!!!!! Do you shoot in raw? As to both eyes … I do both, actually … and I don’t know why!!! And the LEFT eye, too, which is odd because I’m right handed!!!! Or is there not a connection?
Thanks Lois. I like HDR so much that my first, and dearest love, Candid started complaining that I am neglecting her. So I promised to take her along and now everyone is happy.
great notes with this one, faul… you handled a difficult lighting situation expertly… love the fleet of broiling ships followed by a poster advertising the quiet after the storm, and then inside the shop there’s a man sitting as if to illustrate the latter point… lol! (but then, I can be one-eyed) :)
Thanks Carol. I am sitting with a B&W version and can’t decide if I should replace it.

I would like to think not, but some peeps only see with one side of their brain, great capture!
Thanks. I try to have my face as relaxed as possible and not let the left side of my brain interfere to much in the right side’s visualisation.
