Everywhere I go and in this case the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, there are people cleaning, sweeping and removing the stuff that the visitors throw away. They are the invisible members of society until they stop working. I also remember Fred Astaire and his dance with a broom and look at their movements and actions.

Nicely composed shot Faul, and I like that you are showing appreciation for people who keep public places clean! They deserve gratitude and recognition! It does look like there is a dance between them, appears they are a good coordinated team! Great shot! ;o))

  • Thank you very much. I have added four thumbnails to the other broom sweeping pictures since your comment.

    Excellent mono Faul, great composition.

  • Thanks Gary. I saw it as B&W right from the start.

Broom dancing lol. I like this picture in that it records something that we tend not to see. We take it for granted. The mundane. Ask your mum about cleaning lol.

Its something that we tend not to photograph. Its hard to photograph successfully like you have in this picture.

  • Thanks Andrew. As you can see, I get a lot of practice at the Waterfront. Why only take action shots of sport? If I have to cover, say, a golf tournament I can use my experience with sweepers.
