We Are Winning: A Flobots lyrical quote

Posted over 3 years ago

The following is a quote from the song “We Are Winning” by the Flobots, on the Fight With Tools album. All credit is given to the band for the following lyrics… but I felt the need to share them with you. Please, listen:

We are building up a new world. Do not sit idly by. Do not remain neutral. Do not rely on this broadcast alone. We are only as strong as our signal. Ther

Weather, patterns.

Posted over 3 years ago

So there’s an ice storm in the midwest US, here in Colorado we are having a strange on-and-off winter (today it is dry and sunny), and elsewheres in the world (I think Australia?) there is an unusually awful heat wave… anyone ever stop to think this may be something we caused?

PAX HUMANA

I, Alexander -—— --, declare myself a dual citizen. While I maintain my citizenship of origin, I am unsatisfied and unsettled by the current administration of government. My point of dissatisfaction lies in my nation’s insufficient interest or desire to unite the peoples and nations of the entire world. It is my firm belief that the proper world order, for the security and co…

Random Dayz: These Old Tires

Posted about 4 years ago

I simply could not afford to continue fixing the old car, and the new owner had a privately owned shop and was eager for a project. As the young gentleman tenderly hefted his new car onto the flatbed truck, free of charge, I …

Random Dayz: Inuyasha-esque

Posted about 4 years ago

Today, in the state of Colorado (or at least my part of it), it looks a bit like Japan. There is a delicate pink-blossomed tree with petals all over the ground and a lawn of emerald grass… and it is being gently blanketed by snow. It looks like a scene straight out of an anime end theme.

Random Dayz: Ender's Game, revisited

Posted about 4 years ago

The other night as I was watching tv, I torched 13 sugar ant drones (the flying ones) because they were covering our living room floor. I placed them on a clean plate and put them under the nozzle of a grill lighter. One by one. The next day, I found a queen roaming across my bedroom floor and I helped her found a colony in one of my windowsill flowerbeds. Anyone who has read Ender’s Ga…

Struggle for Revival

Posted about 4 years ago

The line is drawn. Not in sand, but in stone. Unshifting, unchanging, carved ragged for all to see. The soldier, anxious and weary, finds strength anew in the purity of his cause. The unwielding tower trembles, sensing it’s downfall even as its keepers mock their doom with loud and confident cheers. But no amount of denial will halt the change, just as no amount of earth can halt the r…
