I like the fact the foreground is lit nicely no loss of detail due to the position of the sun. Did you use a number of flashs or reflectors, nice to know how you achieved it. Please don’t tell me it was Photoshop. Stunning image thanks for sharing it.
Thanks, Vinny. :-) I was completely rubbish with Photoshop when I took this (in fact I only had Elements) and am not a great deal better yet. I’d have made minor adjustment to levels. No reflectors or anything. The trip to the Lakes was a weekend treat from my daughters for my birthday. Unfortunately, I had a knee injury and the squally weather meant snatching shots between extreme drenchings. The light in this shot was entirely due to the sun just sinking below the hills across the lake. I loved the long, pointy shadows it created, and the warm, glowing colour it brought out in the wood.If you haven’t been to The Lake District, it’s well worth the effort. This was in April 2008. Helpfully short days at that time of year, for dawn and dusk shots, but still cold and wet. :-)
