Photography has always been something that I’ve been interested in ever since I got my first compact film 35mm point and shoot camera. I was very excited when digital cameras became more commonplace and affordable, as I was able to start becoming a bit more creative in the pictures I took and not worry about wasting film.
What truly inspires me are open landscapes. Living in British Columbia, Canada, I spent a lot of time hiking in the mountains and valleys, and really have an appreciation for the natural beauty of where I live. In the past, I only had my point and shoot camera, and I would take multiple photos and then use software to “stitch” them together to make panoramic photos. I also became interested in long exposure city pictures and realized the point and shoot camera had limitations.
In March 2008, just before my first daughter Eliana was born I decided purchase my first DSLR camera (Canon 40D). It was both so that I would be able to explore my photography interest further and also because I had a baby on the way, and I would love to capture some beautiful moments. All I can say is that I am completely addicted!
Right now, photography is a hobby for me, so I not provide any ‘photography services’ or the like.
Please have a look at my gallery and if you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to let me know!
I also have my own personal website at www.avision.ca
I have additional photos on my flickr account as well.
