Thought provoking. Another question would be why she didn’t turn the light on at the top of the stairs… might have kept her from falling ;)
You know I love this…. the pose is awesome and the dishevelled hair, I’m also loving the way the light works and the sheer sparseness of your backdrops.
Thanks again Paul. I’m a great fan of the KISS principle.
Really nice shot .. thanks for sharing
Christina, I am such a fan of this series. This one is my absolute favourite though. Reminds of the classic fear of dying alone, only to be discovered weeks later half eaten by your pets. I keep waiting for the cats to advance from the left. In one sense I look at this photo and can see a comic side to it, but there is also such a profound sense of vulnerability in this shot. Keep up the great work.
Hi shygrrrl, yes it really is a serious issue. My father, now 88, became extremely ill while living alone a few years ago, and only the fact that a neighbour became anxious because of the unusual quietness about the house saved him. Hadn’t thought of the pets bit though – another pic maybe? Cindy Sherman, my main inspiration, became quite gruesome at one time in her career.
I think we all might have this fear as we grow older. Well done, gets the message across fully.
