Taking over 100 computer hours to paint digitally, Sunset of Hope was done in memory of Jim Hurley who passed away earlier this year. He was a Christian , not in the religious sense of the word, but by his abiding faith and trust in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Starting out as a brilliant sunset, the water was added next and as this image evolved I added in a lighthouse to represent Jesus as the Light and then a monument of a Cross commemorating Jesus sacrifice for us. The Sunset itself represents the end of Jesus earthly ministry to man and with each new sunrise I am reminded that Jesus too is coming again and truly is the Light of the World as He is the Son of God ~
