Once I dreamt of Butterflies - detail by

Oil, pigment, rice-paper and ink on canvas
Detail of i of 3 canvases at Redcliffe Regional Art Gallery, Queensland.
I used the fragility of the rice-paper circles to signify collecting butterflies and extinction; during research I discovered hundreds of butterflies are now extinct, mostly through loss of habitat.
