I’m from NY. Staten Island actually. Across the street from where I grew up, Mrs. Cohen grew sweet peas on her fence every summer. I am still bemused by them. I can’t grow them here – it’s too hot. This brings back some wonderful memories – a little girl in braids, asking for little bouquets of sweet peas. I even had a cat named Sweet Pea.

Thanks May. Glad this evoked some pleasant memories for you! I grow different varieties every year so maybe there will more pictures of them in the future!
