Goats
A sight which these days is becoming increasingly rare in the Maltese islands – a goatherd leading his charges back home at the end of the day. Up to about 40 years ago this was a very common sight. Goats were the main source of milk – in fact the goat used to be milked at your door, which facilitated the spread of undulant fever, or brucellosis. Fortunately, these days this disease has been almost wiped out by pasteurisation.
Goats belongs to the following groups:
All things Maltese, Animal Kingdom, European Everyday Life (add the place!) and Everyday Life
