"View of Hog island, Cappa" - Oil Paintingby Avril Brand
Oils on canvas. Hog Island, Cappa, Kilrush, Ireland. (Original sold)
A beautiful summer’s day in Ireland. Hog Island (lies next to Scattery Island on the Shannon River) has a wonderful shape and at this time of the year takes on a purple/blue tint because of the fields of bluebells. Hog Island is inhabited only by goats and there are often yachts and other little boats moored close to the island.
I could not resist the temptation to paint this lovely place, especially as someone so kindly moored this boat so very conveniently on that day.
