Ah one of my fave flowers of all time……has always fascinated me how they can be so many colours on the one bush. Ma used to say….put a rusty nail in the pot and it will turn blue from the iron in the nail :o) Lovely lovely painting, you have done them proud!
Saleire, you are too kind! Apparently, that is very true. Something about acidity and iron in the soil determines the colours of the flowers.

Gorgeous…my favourite shrub….blue won’t grow in my garden because of the soil, but I have every other colour…not an easy flower to paint…
Thank you Janis! Hydrangeas are also my favourite. The easiest to put in a vase too! They form naturally pretty bouquets without any effort.
Never painted those….but I really should try it some time…these look wonderful. I like the reflection on the table…it suits the vase and the flowers.
Arie, a filbert (cat’s tongue) brush does all the hard work… ;-)
