the difficulty of now

for the little girl
counting the stars
on her journey back home
spreading herself thin
while maintaining resplendence

embracing power of spirit
loving beyond the emotion itself
living, giving forever, for all
she holds dear
as she clings so tight
while caught on that ledge
‘how futile sometimes’ this thought
barely crosses her
though it grazes and burns

the healing always comes
with the spark
in the knowing
of shooting stars
and grasslands that sing her name
in golden dreams
so ravenous
she inhales its mantra
shutting everything out
rising above the drown

fingers fly the speed of thought
releasing chromosomes of soul
this is no mere mortal
often the fringe
is where she feels grounded
so found in the lost
of the world
we think we know

her constant path
the swim upstream
alone is beautiful flight

imagine
the rare beauty
she

the difficulty of now

Artist's Description

Thank you yet again Evita, for as busy as you are, taking the time to read and comment on my older work. You bring back amazing memories to me from a while ago, that I cherish so deeply. Cannot express how much your thoughtful kindness means to me.

This was written for a dear friend, I miss her very much.
