My brother in law is an all-time fan of the Nissan 350z. He loves it so much, he bought an HPI 350z Nitro R/C Car. I couldn’t take watching him dream about having the actual car…so, I decided to make his dream come true…at least digitally.
This is an HDR composite of my brother-in-law standing against his R/C car.
Camera: Nikon D40
Lens: Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 w/ Wide Angle Converter
Shooting Method: Tripod
I took 3 exposures of the house (0Ev, +2Ev, -2Ev). Then, I took 3 exposures (0Ev, +2Ev, -2Ev) of him standing against his actual car…a ’02 Galant. Finally, I took 3 exposures (0Ev, +2Ev, -2Ev) of his R/C car, in the exact place and position as his actual car.
In Photoshop CS4, I merged each individual set of exposures into HDR. Then, I cut him out of one set and the R/C car out of another set. I then flattened the two cut-outs and the house in the background into one image. I ran it through Photomatix Pro, used the Midnight and Duplex filters from Color Effex Pro by Nik Software, Sharpened, and used a Texture Overlay from Photo Frame Pro by OnOne Software.
