An abstract piece that illustrates the issue of museums and their right to display artifacts taken from their native land. The image on the left of the work is an ‘African’ elephant spirit mask, used in annual rituals by the Dogon tribe. It once held much power to the tribe but was stolen from them and now resides in a glass box in the British museum where it is nothing more than an item of interest – Its power. Lost in a box.

I like this….goes for us human too….how many of us lose our power once we get lost in boxes….it’s so easy to do….a fave for me:))
Cheers LM, I couldn’t agree more and have been there on more than one occasion myself. Thanks for stopping by :)
