Slaves to the Skull Queen
The first design I uploaded to RedBubble was ‘Skin Deep’, a skull design made up of 100 faces – or there abouts. Skin Deep was inspired, or at least the idea to use organic subjects to comprise the skull was inspired by a photo I saw by Salvador Dali. In recognition of Dali and to the idea his design gave I decided to create my own spin on his original design using bodies, slaves in fact – ‘Slaves to the Skull Queen. ‘

Slaves to the Skull Queen belongs to the following groups:

that is pretty amazing. I love stuff that reveals a little at a time and there is so much detail in this. Just awesome.
ausven replied
Thank you Anne – I did add more detail but found it started to distract from the actual Skull so I cut back on it, defo one of those where less is more.

Loving the line work! Looks awesome from a distance and up close! Well done and goodluck.
ausven
Thank you sir, I actually edited it and gave it a bit of a tweak yesterday, some of the line work and lighting didn’t stand up to the transition from Photoshop to t shirt preview so I intensified both. Good luck to you too. Cheers mate.
mikoto
this is an extraordinary design. this must have taken alot of work. wowow!
ausven replied
Thankyou Mikoto, the design did take some planning and lots and lots of thumbnail sketches, I drew a skull and then photocopied, I then sketched figures in and rubbed several out whilst trying to match the contours and shape until I got it right before embarking on the finished piece. :)
Scott Robinson

ausven
Cheers Buddy – fifth ain’t so bad. :)

I have a version of this as a photograph Picasso took. This looks better
ausven replied
Hey Blackdog, as Im mention in the blurb it was actually based on a photo by Dali, did Picasso actually take the photo? Thanks for the comment.
blackdogblues
And right you are good sir. My humble apologies.
ausven replied
No need to apologize, I was not sure if Picasso actually took the photo or not – could have been the case as they both hail from Spain and were active around the same time. :)
