Australia – Summer 2010 photographic essay
The Australian Travel Photography and Writing group launches its first quarterly photographic essay. The group essays will be aligned to the seasons and the objective is to inspire members to undertake travel photography in Australia. A collaborative project which will be shown to the world. A showcase of the group’s vision, skill and sense of adventure. The aim: to be published in print under the group’s name.

Letter to Brian and Nerida Egan of Aussie Helpers
The Australian Travel Photography and Writing group raised approximately $830.00 retail value of donated goods for the Australian charity, Aussie Helpers. Brian and Nerida Egan are the founders of Aussie Helpers. A formal letter, along with the donated goods, was sent to them.

Focus On Oz – Summer 2010
The Australian Travel Photography and Writing group releases its first group journal. Aligned to the seasons, the quarterly journal will inform members of upcoming activities and events, wrap-up recent group activities, feature members and their photography, journal and writing works.

Australian Traveller magazine competition
In recognition of the assistance given by Greg Barton, Editor, Australian Traveller magazine to the group in 2009, Darren Stones contacted Greg seeking interest in providing magazine subscriptions for an end-of-year group competition.

New hosting team appointed
Due to the success and increasing size of the Australian Travel Photography and Writing group, group originator and host Darren Stones appointed five group members to share hosting duties of the group: Susan Adey, Nerida Smith, Leanne Nelson, Joe Mortelliti and Derek Byrne.

Donate your calendar to Aussie Helpers
The Australian Travel Photography and Writing group is currently engaged in raising product donations from group members for the Australian-based charity, Aussie Helpers.
The aim of this charity drive is to assist Australian farmers who are doing it tough.

Group milestone – 500 members
On Saturday 10 October 2009 the Australian Travel Photography and Writing group’s membership reached 500.
