Built in 1945 at a length of 105 ft.
WG # 37-20-18 Lane County…Oregon

By passed in 1981.. Prior to that it carried as much heavy traffic as any road in Oregon. Built at cost of $25,473 and was originally left ,uncovered, but was enclosed in 1947. Due to rising waters of the newly constructed Dexter dam, the bridge and causeway were raised 6ft. Shortly before being by-passed a dump truck slammed into the bridge and damaged it extensively. The county repaired it completely, but closed it a short time later..Lowell Bridge was built using a Howe truss and originally spanned the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. It now graces Dexter Lake.

Take Highway 58 heading east.. it stands on the corner of Highway 58 and the new uncovered bridge over Dexter Lake, near the town of Lowell and can be easily seen from the highway.
