Sahalie Falls is part of the McKenzie River Trail ( about 55 miles of hiking trails follow this river.. about 250 yards below these falls are Koosah Falls. The trail between the two falls is a nice hike, definitely not wheelchair proof.. Lots of up and down sections to the trial.. Parts of which take you close to the river and other parts you are high above looking down. we have walked this trail so many times and we never get bored.. Its so beautiful and pristine.

This was the first snow for this season- Nov 17th-2009

That’s very nice. Even though it’s a noisy waterfall, it looks serene. I want to go back there sometime. My husband and I went on a couple of waterfall hikes this summer east of Cottage Grove.

  • hi tego,, many thanks for stopping by.. yes they can be noisy when the water is running hard and fast.. but have seen them with little water coming over…Which falls did you see near Cottage Grove.. We have been to Wildwood Falls.

Beyond Wildwood Falls are Spirit Falls and Moon Falls. Both are short hikes. I’m not good with directions so I couldn’t tell you how to get there, but the forest service can.

  • Thanks for the info,. will look into that. maybe we could meet there some time.
