The famous Frill Neck Lizard, the name derives from when the reptile feels threatened. He flares his neck out, which then fans out to give the impression he is much bigger.

When the Frill Neck runs, they actualy run on the hind legs at a very fast pace. As with this one I photographed, althoug it took some time to get close enough to get a shot of him. They can remain as still as a rock and blend into the scenery. Many time one can walk past them without not seeing them.

They are non venomous, however can inflict a nasty bite if you are unlucky enough to be close enough to one.
