Artist's Description

This photo was taken inside an old caravan, when “Cooly Rocks On” was called “Wintersun” in Coolangatta, SE Queensland. The celebration is for everyone who enjoys Rock-N-Roll memorabilia from the 50’s & 60’so; hot cars, great music and bits of this & that from the past.

Betty Boop was created by Max Fleischer. Her first appearance was August 9th 1930 in the cartoon “Dizzy Dishes”. She actually began as a caricature of the sexy, coy flapper and singer, Helen Kane who had risen to fame in the late 1920’s. The “Boop-Oop-A-Doop!” Betty Boop was toned down in the mid 1930’s to appear more demure. (There is so much more written about her but these few notes came from Wikipedia & Britannica Online Encyclopedia).
