Still Life Study in Brown.
I love drumming. But I love it even more when there are others drumming with me. Now they can.
My favourite drum is the Bodhran or Celtic Drum (at the back). I have been playing that for about 2 years now. I take it with me to all Celtic festivals and always find other drummers to ‘jam’ with.
The drum on the left was hand made by a family friend who was doing her Masters in Music. I bought it to support her studies, back in 1982. It has a wonderful deep tone.
The little one in front is a bongo drum I bought second-hand for my granddaughter to bash on. My husband enjoys it too. It has a nice ‘slap’ sound for those who have big hands.
The Djembe African drum on the right is new. I bought that on eBay. I thought it would be much bigger, so I could sit down and get some deep tribal rhythms happening. Boy, was I wrong! It sounds just like the Bellydancing drums. Bit more treble ‘tinny’ pitch.
And now you know as much as I know. However, if you can tell me more…please do.
