Photograph taken in the rather disappointing transport museum located next to The Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg, Russia. I’m not sure of the make or model of the bike but the title was inspired from Hawkwind’s, ‘Silver Machine’. April 2011.

3 exposures hand held from a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Canon EF16-35 2.8 L II. Processed with Photomatix, Raw and Photoshop.

The name of that church is great ! Love this shot , I remember Hawkwind!

  • Got that unusual name due to Alexander II being assassinated on that spot by a hand grenade. Thank you very much. Hawkwind was the 1st concert I went to at the ripe old age of 10 at the Glasgow Apollo.

Great image and refresher of memories. I have the above album – on something called ‘vinyl’ and I certainly recall bikes in similar condition.

My guess is it’s a Ural motorcycle

  • lol, yep I remember vinyl. Still got my old collection of limited editions and picture discs. Thank you very much Aggpup!
