Exposure adjusted & cropped a little of the original frame to improve composition
Location: Henry Vilas Zoo, Madison, Wisconsin
The zoo had a primate behavioral observatory lab years ago that was owned/managed by the University of Wisconsin. It was a huge, round, ugly monstrosity with 4 monkey families in resident. Students and researchers were frequently seen in the small windows at the top of the structure, observing and recording family and community dynamics and behavior of the animals. I saw this little one teething on the cage bars. The exhibit was torn down several years ago and there is a new, very nice primate exhibit at the zoo… without the researcher gallery. The Henry Vilas Zoo is one of the few free zoos in the U.S. (a stipulation of the bequest) and has been undergoing major renovation the last few years to improve animal exhibits.
