Governor & Lance Armstrong-Smoke Free Rally by

Wisconsin is in the middle of the very hot issue of smoke free air legislation. A rally was held on March 4, 2008 to support the Senate and Assembly bills which would prohibit smoking in indoor public places. This shot is of Governor Doyle introducing Lance Armstrong, who came to give his support for the two bills. Armstrong has a connection to Wisconsin; he rides TREK bicycles, a Wisconsin company.

The kids are high school age members of an Wisconsin advocacy movement called FACT- Fighting Against Corporate Tobacco. These kids are PASSIONATE about a smoke-free lifestyle.

The Wisconsin Legislature passed Smoke Free Air Legislation on Wednesday, May 13, 2009.
Governor Jim Doyle signed the legislation into Law on Monday, May 18, 2009

Wisconsin’s Smoke Free Air Law will be enacted on July 5, 2010.
