Reptile In the Sand by AuntDot
Clear

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS; 1/640, f/4.0, ISO 200, focal length 4.5mm; AUTO setting

To me this looks like a reptile slithering along in a rock embedded in a wall of rocks outside a doctor’s office in Ocala, Florida. While my husband filled out paperwork, I stayed outside enjoying the opportunity to photograph many interesting rocks in that wall.

FEATURED in Abstract Nature’s Macro Art, Oct. 9, 2012

Having lived most of my life in the northeast U.S., I am enjoying retired life in sunny Florida. I enjoy photographing many different kinds of things, but especially flowers and animals, including the beautiful birds found here in Florida. I am currently using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D camera, a Canon 55-250 mm telescopic zoom lens, and a Sony P10 Cyber-shot digital camera. My newest acquisition is a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, a point and shoot which I will be carrying in my purse.

Yeah, I see its eye! This is really cool, Dot!

  • Thanks, Monnie. I thought of a turtle with its neck stretched out and my husband said lizard. So I’m calling it a reptile to cover everything, even a snake! LOL

It sure does, great find and capture.

  • I’m glad you see it. Nothing like that alternative universe, not only in rust but in rock and tree bark and other unexpected places! Thanks!

What t great find, Dot! You did good hanging outside… and great lighting as well!!

  • Yes, meanwhile my hubby, who hates to fill out forms, was ON HIS OWN! I had way to much fun with the rock wall to go sit inside and do it for him! LOL

The lines seem to undulate, as a snake would. Excellent!

  • I appreciate your viewing all my rocks and leaving such nice comments, Judy. Thanks so much!
